A first visit to Castlerigg in the Lake District is one of those breathtaking experiences as you take in the loneliness of the stones and the mountains all around. My first visit there was in a snow storm; at other times, the sky has an astonishing menace which takes the visitor back to those ancient times when these stones held huge signficance. This print, entitled Red Sky at the Lakeland Stones attempts to capture the sense of foreboding that can suddenly overwhelm the visitor.

One of variable edition of 4, hand printed on a Victorian Albion Press in Cambridgeshire, UK. Signed and editioned by the artist and printed on 250 gsm Somerset Velvet Paper. The coloured part of the image measures approximately 12 x 4 inches (30 x 10cm).
