This linocut features an imagined scene in the Middle Ages with three troubadours arriving at a castle window only to be greeted by a grumpy hound rather than the Lady. The image itself features three singers taken from a variety of mediaeval manuscripts; the "voices" emerging from the singers' mouths mimics a technique I saw on a Devon bench-end where the mediaeval carpenters used these clouds to suggest voice.

A black and white version of this print is also available.
