This original hand-pulled linocut print features Cheshire knight Sir Hugh Calveley, whose tomb at Bunbury in Cheshire is richly preserved.
Sir Hugh served in the Hundred Years' War alongside Sir Robert Knollys as well as serving under the Black Prince at the battle of Najera in 1367.
It is hand printed on 250 gsm Somerset Velvet Paper on a 19th Century Albion Press in 4 colours, printed from 4 different plates and signed and edition by the artist. Printed area: 12" x 12"; paper size approx twice as much again.
