This original linocut print shows medieval snowballers at the turn of the fiifteenth century. The image is based on a delightful fresco at Torre dell'Aquila (Eagle Tower) in Buonconsiglio Castle, Italy.

This image is also available in red/yellow colourway (subject to availability)

The fresco, dating from ca. 1400,  is roughly contemporary with the writing of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; we can imagine such folk going indoors later to hear a medieval romance being read to them.

One of variable edition of 2, hand printed on a Victorian Albion Press in Cambridgeshire, UK. Signed and editioned by the artist and printed on 250 gsm Somerset Velvet Paper. The printed part of the image measures approximately 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15cm).
